Coral Springs, FL (March 26, 2019) -The National Endowment for the Arts has awarded the Coral Springs Museum of Art a $10,000 grant to support Coral Springs Museum of Art’s various art classes for kids, teens and adults and specialty programming.

“The National Endowment for the Arts is committed to ensuring all Americans have access to the arts, whether they are in a small or large, rural or urban area,” said NEA Acting Chairman Mary Anne Carter. “We are proud to support organizations, such as the Coral Springs Museum of Art, that are providing opportunities for more people to experience and engage in the arts in their communities.”

The Coral Springs Museum of Art was selected as the beneficiary for the National Endowment for the Arts grant due to the Museum’s efforts to make art available to all regardless of age, gender or race. In addition to offering a variety of art classes and programs for kids, teens and adults, the Museum also offers specialty programming such as  Healing With Art, Art for Warriors, the Kaleidoscope: the Beauty of Autism program,  Art Full Saturday for families with young children, and Summer in the Studio, a one-of-a-kind summer camp experience for budding artists.

“We are so grateful to the NEA for selecting the Museum as one of the grant recipients,” said Julia Andrews, Executive Director of the Coral Springs Museum of Art. “With this funding the entire Museum team will continue to work to make art accessible to everyone in the community and provide a place where creative freedom is at the forefront.”

Art classes for kids, teens and adults are offered in The Studio at the Coral Springs Museum of Art and are guided by professional artists who educate. The Museum invites community members from all different backgrounds and abilities to explore, question and experiment with a range of classes in painting, realistic expressionism, watercolor, mixed media painting, drawing, comic book design, drawing techniques, and teen jewelry making and technology.

The Coral Springs Museum of Art is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  For more information about the Museum’s programming and events call (954) 340-5000 or visit www.coralspringsmuseum.org.
