Fort Lauderdale, FL (August 9, 2017) Enjoy all-you-can-eat BBQ for a cause! Join Danto Builders and the Florida Design & Construction Professionals on September 14, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. for the 4th Annual Big Bad BBQ, a professional networking event benefiting Special Olympics Florida.

This year promises to be bigger and better than ever, with ribs, chicken, hot dogs, beer, wine and champagne; live art by local therapeutic mobile artist Nikipaint Studios; a photo booth; auctions; a raffle and live music by KC and the Sunshine Band vocalist James Magnole! The Broward Health bus will also be on site offering free heart-rate checks. Attendees will have the opportunity to network, mix and mingle with Broward’s most passionate Special Olympics athletes, and enjoy great food, drinks and entertainment.

“[My husband] Craig and I both have relatives who have Down Syndrome and have seen how disabilities affect people firsthand,” said Debbie Danto, Business Development Director at Danto Builders. “Danto Builders and the Florida Design & Construction Professionals cofounded the Big Bad BBQ in honor of our family members who have done so much for people with special abilities.”

Last year, the Big Bad BBQ raised more than $25,000 in support of 23 Special Olympics sports programs and 5,100 athletes offered in Broward County year-round.

“Special Olympics programs provide the invaluable gifts of self-confidence and self-image to our athletes, which carry over into all aspects of their lives,” said Linda Mills, director of Special Olympics Broward County. “There is no question that Special Olympics is a valuable part of this community, and we need help from sponsors like Danto Builders and events like the Big Bad BBQ to keep our great program growing.”

Major sponsors for this year’s event include Complete Marine, Larry Kline Wholesale Meats, Village Grille and Village Pump, FreshPoint, Sally Sherman Salads, Hott Leggz, Funky Buddha Brewery, Sea Watch, Oak & Cane Rum, Coccadotts Cake Shop, Chase Roofing, Tru Colors, The Blue Book, Spirit Airlines, Corporate Insurance Advisors, Broward Health, Beachcombers Resort and Villas, Danto Electric and Permit Professionals. All proceeds will benefit Special Olympics Florida. Casual dress is encouraged, and valet and on-street parking will be available.
