City of Meriden Department of Health & Human Services

Case Study
Get Ready for Kindergarten Campaign

CHALLENGE

The City of Meriden Department of Health & Human Services needed to increase awareness of childhood vaccinations and kindergarten health requirements while making it easier for families to access trusted information and free vaccination services. The campaign required a bilingual, community-centered approach that would educate parents, reduce barriers to care, and encourage families to prepare children for a healthy start to school.

CORE STRATEGY POINTS

  • Developed a bilingual “Don’t Delay, Get Ready for K” public education campaign.
  • Created a dedicated Childhood Vaccinations webpage with vaccine information, school requirements, clinic resources, and FAQs.
  • Designed a family-friendly campaign identity featuring “Marley the Meriden Lion.”
  • Produced bilingual print and digital educational materials, including videos, flyers, posters, social media graphics, and direct mail.
  • Managed organic social media, paid digital advertising, earned media, and community outreach to reach families across multiple platforms.
  • Partnered with schools, pediatric providers, libraries, and community organizations to expand campaign reach.

THE SOLUTION

Our team delivered a fully integrated public health communications campaign that combined strategic messaging, creative storytelling, digital marketing, and grassroots outreach. By creating consistent messaging across web, social media, advertising, earned media, and community events, the campaign helped families better understand childhood vaccination requirements and connect with the City’s Public Health Clinic before the start of the school year.

The Results

The campaign generated more than 6,600 webpage visits, 5,483 unique users, and 10,800 link clicks while delivering over 1.1 million advertising impressions and 30,000 social media impressions. The initiative included 22 community events, partnerships with 34 community organizations, distribution of more than 1,100 resource bags, and the creation of 216 campaign assets, helping thousands of Meriden families access trusted health information and kindergarten readiness resources.
